Robert Mueller - Arts & Sciences
Robert(Bob Mueller graduated from Highland High School in 1971. He graduated from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, receiving his bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in 1975.

He pursued his radio interests in college, gaining experience in the field as a news and sports reporter and eventually as the station’s news director. He got his start in television as a reporter. producer and anchor for WMDB-TV in Peoria, Illinois. Bob worked for WTVC-TV in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he was an investigative and state government reporter and anchor. Bob joined NEWS 2, WKRN-TV in Nashville, Tennessee in 1980 as a field reporter covering the state capitol. Bob has been the co-anchor at all time slots with the station for more than 20 years. During this time Bob’s reporting skills have earned him numerous honors and distinctions. Bob is a seven time Emmy Award winning journalist and is also a winner of the coveted George Foster Peabody Award for investigative reporting. Bob has received awards from the Associated Press, United Press International and Radio Television News Directors Association.

Bob has brought viewers some major historical events: the first space shuttle launch in 1980, covering Jimmy Carter’s return to Plains, Georgia after leaving the White House, and one-on-one interviews with Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George Bush, Al Gore and Bill Clinton. Bob is also recognized as one of middle Tennessee’s most active members in helping his community. He has worked in helping feed the hungry with Second Harvest Food Bank for the past 25 years, Boy Scouts for 17 years, Advisory Board Member for the Nashville Mental Illness Organization, and helping country music singer Vince Gill raise money for his fundraiser golf tournament, The Vinny. So far the tournament has raised nearly $4 million dollars. For 10 years, Bob has hosted his own tournament, the Bob Mueller M.S. Celebrity Challenge raising over $700,000 to fight M.S. Bob’s continuing commitment to the middle Tennessee community has earned him the Silver Circle Award from the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences as well as two TEA School Bell Awards.
